During the working visit to West Kazakhstan, the Head of State reviewed the project for reconstructing Oral International Airport, reports akorda.kz.
Modernization of the Uralsk airport, which has been functioning since 1979, will begin this July and be completed by the end of 2020. According to the plan, the terminal area will be expanded from 4 thousand to 7 thousand sq. m., the capacity will increase from 200 to 400 passengers per hour. The air harbor will be able to receive up to 350 thousand people a year instead of the current 160 thousand.
According to the President of Kazakhstan, the airport’s reconstruction will be an important prerequisite for forming a favorable investment climate in West Kazakhstan.
- Uralsk is our main gate to Europe. To become attractive for foreign investments, it is necessary to implement such projects qualitatively and in a timely manner, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
