The next round of talks in Astana was decided after the meeting of the foreign ministers of the Russian Federation, Iran and Turkey, announced Kazakhstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Kairat Abdrakhmanov.
"We received information from our Russian colleagues that the guarantor countries of the Astana process, namely Russia, Turkey and Iran, intend to gather a meeting of the foreign ministers of these countries within the framework of the Astana process. And the possible venue is Astana. The timing and the specific agenda are currently being specified. In this regard, the next round of the Astana process itself is scheduled to be held after the meeting of the foreign ministers, "K. Abdrakhmanov said.
As he added, to convene a meeting of foreign ministers of three such countries as the Russian Federation, Iran and Turkey, some efforts are required, all have a rather busy schedule.
"Especially in the light of the events that are unfolding in the Middle East too, that's why the speech is most likely about March," the Kazakh Foreign Minister explained.
Recall, earlier it was reported that the meeting within the framework of the Astana process on the settlement of the conflict in Syria will be held on February 20.
