Following the meeting between JSC NC KazMunaiGas and the Chinese National Oil and Gas Corporation, an agreement was reached to increase the export of Kazakh gas to China to 10 billion cubic meters per year with reference to the press office of the national company.
They also raised the problem of further developments of the gas transportation infrastructure, modernisation, and expansion of the capacity of existing gas pipelines. It was decided to gradually increase the capacity of two "A" and "B" lines of MG "Kazakhstan-China" by the end of 2019.
It is planned to increase the capacity of MG Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent by building new compressor stations and modernizing existing ones to expand transportation through Kazakhstan territory.
Deliveries of natural gas from Central Asian countries to China via the Central Asia-China gas pipeline increased by 13.4% by the end of 2017 to 38.7 billion cubic meters. Since the beginning of the introduction of the transnational gas pipeline in late 2009, China transported a total of 203.2 billion cubic meters of gas.
