Swiss lawyer Gregoire Mangeat reported on Twitter that his client, the eldest daughter of the first president of Uzbekistan, Gulnara Karimova, was taken away in the unknown direction on the evening of September 16 and her whereabouts are unknown.
According to Gregoire Mangeat that day Karimova was taken to the Yashnabad District Court, where her case was heard. Karimova’s daughter, Iman, was not allowed into the meeting room. Gregoire Mangeat did not receive permission to attend the meeting, despite an official request filed two weeks ago. According to a Swiss lawyer, Uzbek lawyer of Karimova was also notified of the meeting only on the day of the meeting. After some time, Karimova was taken from the court in an unknown direction.
In July, Gregoire Mangeat reported that Gulnara Karimova was deprived of the right to freely communicate with a lawyer. In particular, he was not allowed to visit the Zangiata Women's Colony in the Tashkent region, where the eldest daughter of the first president of Uzbekistan was kept.
