A new world record was set in the Olympic campus in Ashgabat - the longest cycling parade along one line, reports the official representative of the company “Guinness World Records” - Sheyda Subashi-Gemidzhi.
2019 people became participants of the large-scale bicycle race. Cyclists lined up at a certain distance from each other and cycled around the Olympic town, overcoming a distance of 3300 meters. So in Ashgabat the record set March 3, 2019 in India was updated.
Meanwhile, at the ceremony on the occasion of the mass bike race in Ashgabat, timed to coincide with the World Bicycle Day, the head of the UCI, David Lappartien, spoke. He announced the decision of the International Cycling Union to award President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with a Certificate of Appreciation.
D. Lappartien also announced that the world track cycling championship was held in Ashgabat in 2021.
