Russia will strengthen military bases in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
At a meeting of defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Bishkek, Russia announced that it would further strengthen military bases in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Moscow would strengthen military bases in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan to protect its allies in Central Asia from terrorist groups from Afghanistan.
"In order to timely respond to emergencies, we will strengthen military bases in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. In addition, Russia will help to modernize the army of its allies in Central Asia, to provide military equipment, and to train regular soldiers", - noted Shoigu.
