The delegation of Uzbekistan headed by Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, participating in the Munich Security Conference, held talks with the President of Afghanistan Muhammad Ashraf Ghani on the eve.
"The meeting discussed topical issues of cooperation in the launch of a peaceful political dialogue in Afghanistan, which should be carried out by the Afghans themselves," the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.
President Muhammad Ashraf Ghani thanked the head of Uzbekistan and the fraternal Uzbek people for their consistent and energetic efforts to promote the peace process in his country, its socio-economic revival.
The conversation also covered other issues of the Uzbek-Afghan agenda. First of all, it was about the prospects for the implementation of joint transport, energy and other projects with Uzbekistan aimed at creating trans-Afghan transit corridors and strengthening regional economic interconnections.
