It is discussed at a meeting of the Government of Turkmenistan.
Following the summit’s bilateral talks, the signing of a number of important documents aimed at further strengthening the mutually beneficial Turkmen-Afghan cooperation in priority areas is envisaged, the report said.
"At the present stage, relations between Turkmenistan and Afghanistan have become significantly more active and have reached a qualitatively new frontier," the words of Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov are quoted in the information.
Speaking from the position of resolving the situation in Afghanistan by exclusively peaceful political and diplomatic means, Turkmenistan is taking concrete steps aimed at restoring the economy and social infrastructure of the neighboring country, the head of state said. It should be noted that Turkmenistan is lobbying for the implementation of a number of infrastructure regional projects with the participation of Afghanistan.
In particular, Turkmenistan is working on the implementation of such projects through the Afghan territory, such as the construction of a railway to Tajikistan and a gas pipeline to Pakistan and India.
