Nursultan Nazarbayev receives the Minister of Defense Nurlan Yermekbayev, the press service of Akorda reports.

“During the meeting, the President was informed about the current state of the country's Armed Forces, also about the priorities for their further development,” the report reads.

N. Yermekbayev informed the President of Kazakhstan on measures being taken to increase the level of combat training, to provide the army with weapons and to solve questions of the social security of servicemen. In addition, the Minister of Defense focused on the activities of the Kazakh contingent in the peacekeeping missions.

At the end of the meeting N. Nazarbayev gave a number of specific instructions.
