Political consultations were held at the level of deputy foreign ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Macedonia in Astana, reports official website of Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Roman Vassilenko, and his Macedonian counterpart, Andrej Zhernovski, discussed topical issues of deepening all-round cooperation and partnership in the political sphere with an emphasis on economic diplomacy and interaction in the international arena.
During the meeting, a thorough exchange of views took place on pivotal issues such as Kazakhstan's non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council, interrelations within the IAEA, the Astana process on Syrian settlement, and prospects for interaction between Central Asia and the Balkan region.
The parties commended the opening of the honorary consulate of Macedonia in Almaty.
“Our states do not have any disagreements of political or other nature, and this creates favorable prerequisites for boosting and enhancing bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation,” Mr. Vassilenko said.
In this regard, tourism, agriculture, transport, inter-academic and inter-cultural exchange were identified as the promising areas of cooperation for the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission.
