The Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions has started on Thursday in the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation in Astana. "Overcoming terrorism and extremism" issues will be discussed at the Congress.
About 80 delegations from 46 countries will take part in the forum, which will be held on October 10-11.
So, the regular session of the Council of Religious Leaders will be held within the framework of the congress. Foreign politicians including Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who is on an official visit to Kazakhstan, are taking part in the event. OSCE Secretary General Thomas Gringer will take part in the forum.
The forum, which is held once in three years, is organized by the Kazakh authorities for the sixth time. The aim is to establish a dialogue between religions and cultures.
