Tajikistan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) intend to prepare a new cooperation program that covers investment projects in communications, energy and the agricultural sector, reports TajikTa.
It was announced during the meeting of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon with the head of JICA Shinichi Kitaok.
The President expressed his satisfaction with the state of cooperation of official Dushanbe with this agency in the areas of professional development of civil servants, providing the population of the republic with drinking water, protecting the health of the mother and child, protecting the state border, civil aviation.
Earlier, in Dushanbe, opened the largest cargo terminal in the region. It was reconstructed within the framework of the Dushanbe International Airport Improvement Project, which was funded by the Government of Japan through JICA. A grant of 2270 million Japanese yen (about $ 20.8 million) was allocated for this project.
