Tajik students and scientists were banned from traveling abroad without official permission, TajikTa reports.

"Tajik teachers, students, researchers and scientists do not have the right to go abroad for study or on a business trip without official permission," the message reads.

According to the new rules introduced in February this year, before any departure abroad, a staff of the Ministry of Education and Science, the head of the schools and the rector of universities should coordinate their departure with the authorities.

"Persons traveling abroad must provide all details of the trip for 15 days, and a written decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," the report says.

Also, heads of educational institutions should justify their departure and agree on the text of their possible speech at the international event with the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Science.

In addition, the employees of the education sector on the return must provide a written report on the trip to the Ministry of Education.
