Kazakhstan and Finland are strengthening cooperation in the transport sector, the press service the Ministry for Investment and Development reports.
The Finnish side in turn stressed the important role of Kazakhstan in the activation of transportation by container train in the direction of Kouvola - Buslovskaya - Altynkol - Xian. Also, they shared the experience of introducing digital technologies in the transport industry.
"The sides exchanged information on the current tasks and priorities of the transport policies of the two countries. The Kazakh side noted the growth of container traffic in the direction of China-Europe. The sides also stressed the growth of transit container transportations. Since November 2017, 30 container trains have been sent", the press service reports.
The sides discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of civil aviation.
In general, bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Finland in the field of transport show positive dynamics. For the year of 2017, the volume of cargo transportation by transit through the railway of Kazakhstan amounted to 60.22 thousand tons, an increase of 31.69 thousand tons in comparison with 2016.
