President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov expressed his opinion on the detention of the deputy of the Supreme Council, Damirbek Asylbekuly.
Sooronbay Zheenbekov told at a meeting with media representatives on March 6: "It was a great blow to us. I hope the Kazakhstani side will consider the case fairly. We will get answers in the future regarding his citizenship".
Recall, during the special operation in Almaty, Zhambyl and South Kazakhstan regions on 15 and 16 February, the deputy of the Supreme Council of Kyrgyzstan Damirbek Asylbekuly was detained. A criminal case was instituted and he was sentenced to two months' imprisonment. During the inspection it was defined thet Asylbekuly is a citizen of Kazakhstan.
