125 people who was in terrorist organizations on the territory of Syria and Iraq territories returned to Kazakhstan.
Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee Nurgali Bilisbekov has noted today at a government meeting: "As everybody knows that international terrorist organizations in the territory of Iraq and Syria were defeated. As a result, terrorists and their families were returning to their home. For instance, 125 citizens of Kazakhstan who was on the territory of Iraq and Syria returned. 57 of them were sentenced to imprisonment. Others are under the control of the competent authorities".
In addition, as stated by Nurgali Bilisbekov, 270 billion tenge will be allocated from the national budget for combating religious extremism and terrorism by 2022. These funds will be used to provide the law enforcement agencies with special equipment, armament, preventive measures and professional development of staff.
