Ecologists find out the reason for the appearance of an oil stain that spilt over the Ertis River in the East Kazakhstan area. Employees of the Environmental Safety Center have already taken samples from the surface of the water. The results of the research give grounds to believe that oil products bottled in the Ertis.
The results of the examination showed the maximum allowable concentration of petroleum products in water 60 times. Above the current, the maximum permissible concentration of petroleum products in the water is 14 times higher than normal.
"Near the gas station, if it was a source, the oil products would continue to enter the river, but now there are no traces. A little higher is the floating means for transporting sand, they could also become a source of an oily stain" said Gennady Koreshkov, director of Center for Ecological Safety LLP.
‘After determining the violators of the environmental law, damage to the environment will be counted", said the head of the Department of Ecology EKR Ermak Barkyshev.
