Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China to hold the meeting about constructing the Tashkent-Andijan-Osh-Irkeshtam-Kashkar highway inTashkent on 24-25 January. This was reported by the press service of the Uzbekistan Foreign Ministry.

As stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China, representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Highways of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the Agency of Road and River Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan will take part in a trilateral meeting in Tashkent. In addition, during the tripartite meeting it is planned to hold international road transport, bilateral Uzbek-Kyrgyz and Uzbek-Chinese meetings.

If these meetings are completed succesfully, the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway route will become the highest mountain road in the world. Some of its parts are located at an altitude of 4400 meters above sea level and pass through tunnels with a total length of 11 kilometers. In the future, the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway will compete with the Dostyk-Alatau (Alashanku) railroad and the Trans-Siberian Railway which passed via Kazakhstan.
