On November 27, 2017, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Akylbek Kamaldinov met with Chinese Ambassador Zhang Hanhui. Also, that day, consultations were held between the Department of Consular Service of the MFA of Kazakhstan and the leadership of the Consular Section of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Astana on cooperation to resolve issues related to the Kazakh Diaspora in China.
Earlier, on November 9, 2017, Kazakhstan's Ambassador to China Shahrat Nuryshev met with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Li Huilai.
The first Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Tleuberdi will visit to Urumqi to meet with the leadership of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China and the Office of Foreign Affairs of the XUAR of China, and the inspection of the Passport and Visa Service of the MFA of Kazakhstan until the end of this year.
Also in December, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs A. Kamaldinov will visit to Beijing to the meeting about the Security Cooperation Subcommittee of the China-Kazakhstan Cooperation Committee, including issues of the Kazakh Diaspora in China.
Recall, on November 13, the government of China have arrested hundreds of ethnic Kazakh in Xinjiang, mostly businessmen, sole traders and have frozen their bank accounts. Also, the authority of China accused them because of disseminating illegal, terrorist, religious extremist information through social networks such as Whats App, WeChat. That is why the relatives of them in Kazakhstan asked to help from Kazakh government to solve the problem in Xinjiang.
