Google and Mozilla to block the certificate of safety of the authorities of Kazakhstan. They announced that the inclusion of new technological solutions in their designs with the goal of "blocking the possibility of the government of Kazakhstan intercepting Internet traffic within the country".
According to an official statement published on the Mozilla website in three languages: English, Russian and Kazakh, the companies took these measures "in connection with reliable information" that in Kazakhstan Internet providers require citizens to install a “state certificate on all devices and in each browser for access to the Internet, "which after installation" allows the government to decrypt and read" all information sent by users.
A similar statement appeared on the official Google blog. It says that the implemented technical solutions "will block the certificate that Kazakhstan is forcing to install". The company says that users do not need to take any action.
Besides, Apple said its Safari browser had built-in measures to block the "security certificate". The company noted that the Qaznet Trust Network is excluded from the list of trusted certificates.
In addition, it should be noted that the implementation of the so-called "security certificate" began in July. Kazakhstan users received messages from telecom operators calling for Qaznet Trust Network to be installed on their devices. Representatives of various departments insisted that it was a tool of protection against cyber attacks and illegal content.
