According to Turmush.kg, there was a conflict between Tajik border guards and local residents in Leilek district of Batken region of Kyrgyzstan. Tajik border guards demanded that the citizens of Kyrgyzstan, who had been trading in a neutral zone, force them out of the region. However, merchants refused to leave the neutral zone. Then frontier guards of Tajikistan fired shots in the air. Subsequently, the border guards of the Kyrgyz border service came to the scene and warned Tajik border guards for their efforts against the common people. However, Tajik border guards shot another bullet without listening to them. The Kyrgyz Frontier Service (FSB) detained Tajik guards and sent them to a temporary detention facility due to shooting bullets in the border area.
