At the Winter Paralympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, Alexander Kolyadin won a gold on a 1,5-kilometer-long ski race. This is the first gold medal in the history of Kazakhstan's Winter Paralympic Games. Earlier, in 1994 at the Paralympic Games in Norway, Lubov Vorobeva won the bronze medal in this skiing race.
