Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Washington, reports press service of Akorda.
During this three-day official visit, Nursultan Nazarbayev is expected to meet with US President Donald Trump, as well as representatives of US official and business circles.
The White House said that during the upcoming talks between Nazarbayev and President Trump, ‘discussions will be held on ways to strengthen and expand the strategic partnership’. The agenda of the negotiations between the Presidents of the United States and Kazakhstan identifies several international challenges, including the theme of Afghanistan.
Kazakhstani news agencies reported that Trump and Nazarbayev would discuss relations with Russia and the war in Syria, as well as trade issues.
Also, Nazarbayev's participation in the meeting of the UN Security Council is planned.
