China to build a wind power plant in Uzbekistan. Wind power plant construction started on September 22 in Gijduvan district of Bukhara region, reports the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan.
According to the Ministry, the total cost of the project is $ 1.8 billion. The project will be implemented by "China's Lioaning Lide" company. Wind power plant capacity is 1,5 thousand MW. The project consists of three stages.
In May 2017, Uzbekistan ratified the Program for the development of an inexhaustible energy source.
In 2018, Uzbekistan agreed to build a nuclear power plant with Russia. Official Tashkent Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) said it could be built on the side of the Tuzken lake near the border with Kazakhstan.
