Nursultan Nazarbayev has been once again elected honorary chairman.
The first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, was given the title of Honorary Chairman of the Turkic Council.
This was stated in the statement of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States. The initiative was raised by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the leaders of the Turkic Council supported the proposal.
"Nursultan Nazarbayev has contributed to the rapprochement of the Turkish world since the early 1990s, and the creation of organizations that unite the Turkic peoples", says in the statement.
Recall, Nursultan Nazarbayev is a lifetime Chairman of the Security Council of Kazakhstan.
