Uzbekistan and the United States are planning to sign loans for $ 100 million, reports the Foreign Ministry’s press service said.
“According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington, DC (USA), the senior representative of the Export-Import Bank of the USA on loans and business development Douglas Fry will visit the country on May 15-19, 2019,” the message reads.
As noted, in the program of the visit, participation in the first Uzbek-American-Canadian business forum in Navoi on May 16-17.
“D. Frey will hold talks with the leadership of the ministries of finance, agriculture, investment and foreign trade, the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan (NBU), Asaka Bank and Uzpromstroybank. In their course, it is planned to discuss the prospects for expanding the volume of mutual trade between Uzbekistan and the United States as part of the implementation of the memorandum of understanding between the NBU and Eximbank, signed on the margins of the official visit of our head of state to the United States in May 2018. This memorandum provides for the allocation of loans in the amount of up to $ 100 million to US companies operating in the market of Uzbekistan,” follows from the announcement.
