The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) will allocate more than $ 47 million to Uzbek universities.
According to the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of Uzbekistan, the ministry has launched a new investment project “Strengthening the material and technical base of higher education in the Republic of Uzbekistan” at the expense of IDB financial resources.
“The total amount of the project is $ 60.5 million, of which $ 47.72 million is the financial means of the IDB, and $ 12.81 million is the funds of Uzbekistan,” the statement said.
The main goal of the project is to equip 50 higher educational institutions throughout the country with modern teaching and laboratory equipment.
