External debt of Uzbekistan has reached 17,3 billion dollars.
According to the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the foreign debt of the country as of January 1, 2019, amounted to 17,3 billion dollars. This figure is 2 times more than in 2017, an an increase of 2,5 billion dollars.
In addition, as stated in the Central Bank, the external debt of the private sector in 2019 decreased by 977,3 million dollars and made up 7,2 billion dollars. External debt of the private sector is mainly related to oil and gas industry. The external debt in this area amounted to 5,3 billion dollars.
