The investigation of the criminal case initiated on the fact of corruption during the modernization of the Bishkek thermal power station has been completed. A number of officials headed by former Prime Minister Sapar Isakov, having concluded a knowingly unfavorable contract with TBEA, caused damage to the state in the amount of more than 111 million dollars, writes 24.kg.
Sapar Isakov faces up to 20 years in prison.
He was also charged with another corruption charge during the renovation of the Historical Museum. Investigation of the criminal case continues in the National Security Committee. According to the investigation, the criminal actions of Sapar Isakov and other officials caused damage to the state totaling 101 million soms (more than 500 million tenge).
