About 700 thousand citizens of Kyrgyzstan are in external labor migration, said Deputy Chairman of the State Migration Service Samat Toktobolotov at event dedicated to the International Day of Migrants.

''Migration issues are very relevant for Kyrgyzstan.About 600 thousand citizens of Kyrgyzstan work in Russia, in connection with which representative offices of the State Migration Service are opened in the capital of the Russian Federation in Moscow, Khabarovsk, Tyumen and Novosibirsk, etc. We are also negotiating the opening of our offices in countries such as Kazakhstan, in the Republic of Korea, and in European countries'', he said.

He also said that the department is working to support labor migrants abroad and to protect their rights.
