It is stated at a meeting with the participation of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyev devoted to the full implementation of tasks to increase revenues to the state budget.

"As a result of the creation of new capacities and organization of clusters in 2019, 78% of harvested cotton fiber will be processed in our country, which is twice as much as in 2017. By 2020, the transition to complete processing of cotton fiber will be made. The share of finished products will be brought from 40% to at least 60%," reports the press service of the President.

In 2018, a cluster procurement of cotton was established in 20 districts on an area of 164,000 hectares. To further expand this system, having considered the proposals, 44 initiators have been selected, possessing the necessary production capacities and financial capabilities. In 2019, cotton is planned to be harvested in 61 clusters covering 51% of all cotton fields.
