Between January and May 2018, almost 40 thousand Kazakhstanis moved to other countries for permanent residence, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
The largest number of documents for departure was issued in Kostanay, East Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Pavlodar oblasts and Almaty. At the same time, most of the Kazakhstanis emigrated to Russia, Germany, Poland, the USA, Canada and Israel.
The agency notes that the reasons for the growth of emigration are "lack of jobs," "falling real incomes of the population," "falling quality of higher education," "corruption and irrational use of budget funds," "raising the retirement age for women," and others.
