Kazakhstan has the cheapest gasoline in the world, Kazakhstan's energy minister Kanat Bozumbayev said at a government hour in the Majilis.
"AI-92, gasoline, is now in Russia, if you translate in KZT 214-220 tenge. At us you know an average of 160 tenge per liter," he said.
"For comparison, let me quote the rating of the international agency Global Petroleum Price for oil products prices in 167 countries around the world. Often we hear that we have the most expensive oil products in the world. I want to show the rating of an independent agency that compares monthly''.
''At the cost of gasoline, Kazakhstan takes 12th position from the end, diesel fuel - 14th. That is cheaper than our gasoline is sold only in 11 countries of the world from 167 countries. Which countries are Venezuela, Iran, Kuwait, Turkmenistan. For diesel fuel is cheaper than us in 13 countries. This is also Venezuela, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan," the minister said.
He also noted that in Kazakhstan, gasoline is cheaper than in neighboring Russia.
