Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev receives Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Tigran Sargsyan, reports the Akorda press service.
During the meeting, issues of the agenda of the forthcoming meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, as well as aspects of further deepening of the Eurasian integration were discussed.
Kazakh President emphasizing the high results of the activity of the EEU, noted the increased attention of other countries to unification.
''Last year 2017 was a successful one. Trade turnover between our countries increased by 27%. We see a great interest to our Union, today over 40 countries cooperate with us. We are holding this meeting on the eve of the Summit of the Supreme EEC. All items of its agenda have been agreed. We are to discuss serious questions, including the ones regarding sanctions'', said the President.
In turn, Tigran Sargsyan congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev on the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan and wished prosperity to Kazakhstan.
"On the instructions of the Council, I would like to discuss with you a few details: to determine how we can more effectively hold a meeting of the Supreme Council, which issues require special attention, to consider the problems related to the deepening of integration," said the chairman of the ECE Collegium.
The President was also informed about the current activities of the EEC.
