On March 21, on the day of Nauryz celebration, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited Samarkand. The head of the neighboring country was met by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, reports the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
The Presidents held a conversation in the Forum of Samarkand. They met just a few days ago - on March 16, the opening ceremony of the Year of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan was held in Astana.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Nursultan Nazarbayev highly appreciated the achieved level of cooperation between the two states and discussed ways of its further development.
The meeting noted the improvement of relations between the countries of the region, in particular, between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. The simplification of the border crossing procedures brought the peoples of the countries even closer and opened new opportunities, the talks said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev, accompanied by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, also inspected the sights of Samarkand.
