In Shchuchinsk (Akmola region) a new republican ski center opened. The sports complex is located at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level. The total area together with the forest fund is 125.54 hectares, reports the press service of the National Olympic Committee.
The unique sports complex consists of a ski-biathlon track, a biathlon (roller) track, a modern ski stadium and separate buildings of administrative buildings. The complex is equipped with a ramified own infrastructure, modern equipment, which will create the most comfortable conditions for the training of high-class athletes all year round.
On this basis, in addition to the central-Olympic training, a sports school will be opened, where the reserve will be prepared, children. Since childhood, they will be engaged in modern conditions, "said Elciyar Kanagatov, head of the Sports Directorate of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan.
According to him, the national teams of Kazakhstan in biathlon, ski jumping and cross-country skiing team will be at this ski base.
