Opening the working (consultative) meeting of the heads of Central Asian states, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev touched upon the topic of good-neighbourliness with Russia and China.
"Of course, we do not say that we are "closing ourselves" here, the countries of Central Asia, we have huge neighbors - this is Russia and China, with whom we are connected by greater contacts. All routes are transported by Russia. Silk Road is China. We want and will continue to actively cooperate with these large neighbors and big markets, " N. Nazarbayev said.
At the same time, he reminded that Russia will soon hold presidential elections.
"We want to hold good elections in Russia. Of course, we want the success of Vladimir Putin. Undoubtedly, all this positively affects the building of constructive dialogue and strengthening of cooperation, " the President stressed.
Recall, the presidential election in Russia will take place on March 18.
