The opening ceremony of the XII Winter Paralympic Games-2018 held in South Korean PyeongChang. The main theme of the ceremony was the slogan "Passion moves us".
Along with 48 other nations, Kazakhstan team walked in the Parade of Athletes at the 35,000 seat Olympic Stadium in PyeongChang. Sochi 2014 participant Kazakhstani skier Kairat Kanafin carried the national flag during the parade.
In 2018, Paralympic athletes from Kazakhstan received 9 licenses. The list says 6 athletes and one sportsman who will accompany the athlete with visual impairment during the entire skiing distance. At the Winter Games Pyeongchang-2018 Kazakhstan will be represented in two sports - skiing and biathlon.
Recall, Paralympic games will hold from 9 to 18 March. Competitions will be held in six sports.
