Today, the results of the implementation of the state program on countering religious extremism and terrorism in Kazakhstan for 2013-2017 and the draft state program for 2018-2022 were discussed at the Government.
"The program envisages the execution of 80 events, 35 of them special, five billion more than 270 billion tenge will be allocated for their implementation, including 209.3 billion from the Republican budget and 60.7 billion tenge from the local budget. It will spend equipment of special and law enforcement agencies with modern technology, weapons and other new developments," said Nurgali Bilisbekov, deputy chairman of the National Security Committee of the RK.
He explained that these costs will also include the organization of preventive measures and the improvement of the professional skills of people.
"Improvement of interdepartmental interaction and counterintelligence activities has contributed to the prevention of 38 terrorist acts since 2013," added Bilisbekov.
For the specified years, the share of objects that meet the requirements of anti-terrorist security was also increased to 40%.
Recall, in 2013-2017, 98 billion tenge were spent on combating terrorism and extremism.
