The "Wall of Karimov" on the border with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan was overthrown. This was reported by ca-news agency.
As stated by the representatives of the local media, on February 18, the "Karimov Wall" was overthrown which separated Samarkand region of Ozbekistan and the Sogdi region of Tajikistan. Representatives of the Uzbek frontier service and Tajikistan border service were participated at the ceremony of overthrowing the 3-meter wall which was built at the initiative of the Uzbek authorities in 2010.
According to representatives of the media of Tajikistan, instead of the destroyed "Karimov Wall" will be built a hotel, a car park and a modern checkpoint.
