On February 26, Rajabali Rakhmonali, Chairman of Tajikistan's Border Guard Service, made a statement at a meeting of the Border Guard Heads of Central Asia, Russia and Afghanistan. During the meeting, he noted that there are 16,770 terrorists on the territory of Badakhshan, Kunduz and Tahar in Afghanistan.
"There are 16,770 terrorists on the territory of Badakhshan, Kunduz and Tahar in Afghanistan. Of these, 6,330 are foreign terrorists. At present, the Taliban, the "Ansarullah", the "Turkistan Islamic Movement" and the "Islamic State" terrorist organization have been building 37 military camps in the region and they are working on the methods of fighting", - mentioned Rajabali Rakhmonali.
The total length of the Tajik-Afghan border is 1344 km. Tajik Security Council Secretary Abdurahim Kakhkharov said that border security was tightened due to the fact that the terrorist organization was concentrated in one region.
