Russia will build nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the ca-news agency.
According to representatives of local mass media, the head of the "Rosatom" company Alexei Lihachev told that Russia will build a nuclear power plant in Uzbekistan at a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev. He said, "We are currently negotiating with the start of the construction of a nuclear power plant with Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan. In general, the atomic industry is familiar for Uzbekistan. At the time of the Soviet Union, there were the centers for testing nuclear reactors on the territory of Uzbekistan. However, no talks have been held earlier on the construction of the nuclear power plant".
Recall, earlier Uzbekistan and Russia signed an intergovernmental agreement on the use of peaceful nuclear energy.
