Kazakhstan's Ministry of Defense plans of the department to send 120 peacekeepers to carry out a peacekeeping mission to Lebanon, said the deputy minister Talgat Mukhtarov on the sidelines of the Majilis.
"We have gone through all the necessary procedures, and now there are certain nuances, standard procedures that the UN demands ... By the autumn we will already send the company. About 120 people to send to one of the missions, preliminary, this is a mission in Lebanon" he said.
We did not send, because we did not have a law on peacekeeping activities, no social issues, guarantees, security were negotiated. The law has been adopted, training is in progress. We are working closely with the UN. I was personally in Lebanon; I looked at the terrain where we will perform. This is a peacekeeping mission" he added.
