From January 1, 2019, Kazakhstan will officially prohibit outpatient cards, said the Minister of Health Elzhan Birtanov.

"Since January 1, 2019, we officially plan to ban the use of paper outpatient cards and case histories," he said at a meeting on modernization and priority development of primary health care.

The minister recalled that the issue of providing Internet is under special control of the government of the republic.

"Now, of course, it will be difficult to switch to digitalization, but it's better to do it now than to delay. What we do, I call endless horror, when I have to write everything by hand and then sit in the evening and drive into the computer. Therefore, a terrible ending is better than an endless horror, " he described the process.

The Minister noted that this initiative is the beginning of a new era that opens great horizons for the country's doctors.
