In the 4th quarter of 2017, the number of unemployed registered in Kazakhstan amounted to 439,3 thousand people and the indicator reached 4,9 percent.

The number of unemployed male was 46,1% or 202,6 thousand people. The unemployment rate in female was 53,9% (236,7 thousand women).

Among the unemployed people, 36,6 thousand people applied for the job at the labour exchange. They are young people between the ages of 15 and 24. Moreover, 173 thousand people aged 25-34, 101 thousand people aged 35-44, 85,5 thousand aged 45-54, and 42,3 thousand people aged 55-64 were looking for a job. At the labour exchange, there are 400 people aged over 64 years.

In this indicator, we can see that the number of men aged 15-34 years is 85,8 thousand and women - 124,5 thousand.

It is important to note that young people aged 25-34 years (5,8%) are unemployed.
