The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev held a meeting with the Minister of Healthcare Elzhan Birtanov, Akorda reports.
During the meeting, the Head of State mentions on the issues of state regulation of prices for medicinal products and the fight against corruption in the pharmaceutical industry.
'After my instructions to deal with the prices, the chairman of the Committee for Medical Services and the management of the company SK-Pharmacy were brought to justice, the heads of the health departments of five regions were detained. As a result of illegal actions with the contracts, the prices for medicines are unjustified', the President of Kazakhstan said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed to ensure timely implementation of the tasks set and to organize appropriate control in the sphere of public health, including the process of procurement of drugs.
Recall, in October, the head of "SK-Pharmacy Ltd Maxim Kasatkin was arrested for two months and suspected of embezzlement of 1.8 billion tenge.
